The Department of Architecture & Interior Design, School of Architecture & Design at the Lebanese American University, has the pleasure to invite you to a lecture presented by Pierre Alain Trévelo and Antoine Viger-Kohler entitled “EARTH IS ARCHITECTURE: Architecture, Public Space, Infrastructure”

Thursday, February 23 at 6:00 PM, Beirut Campus, AKSOB 903

Under man’s action, earth has become architecture. The ground is now architecture and public space is architecture. Public space design is the project of what we call the ‘architecture of the ground’, of the earth’s crust.

Public space design is real architecture project that needs to be at the service of the earth/ground continuity, what we call the earth/ground architecture. The ground is the essential surface where men gather and evolve. It has to support evolutions in the ways of life, in time.

The ground is the place of the encounter between architecture and infrastructure.
