aftermath 4 – Corner articulation in Achrafieh, Lebanon

Date: August,8 2011

Location of Shoot: Achrafieh, Lebanon

Photographer: Elie Michel Harfouche

Author: Archileb

This is the fourth in a series of images documenting the aftermath, understood as exposures of Lebanese settings in the wake of the event, be it social, cultural or built. Aftermath is an alternative look at the after-party, expanding our range of focus to find interest in the peripheral.

A building at an intersection next to the ABC Mall in Achrafieh tries to negotiate the corner articulation. The architect proposed varying approaches between the body (circular) and the roof (angular) of the building. The result and the overall aesthetic of the building are published here for your consideration.

Pastiche at its best. designed by an architect with a license but without any aesthetic understanding and definitely a lack of education.
