Divine Details 2011 Competition Results

Divine Details is a philanthropic division created in 2004 with the main objective to promote youth development, careers and design projects.
With the aim to help young designers, architecture students and recent graduates become more creative, they are offered the chance to enhance their design portfolios, acquire hands-on experience complementing their academic learning and improve their opportunities for employment in Lebanon. 
The competition was open to students or recent graduates (2010) from all universities and technical schools in Lebanon that have an architecture, product design and interior design degree. The participants were asked to design and execute a full scale piece of furniture.
The final submission deadline was May 29 and the jury took place on the second of June. The winners were announced at the awards ceremony which took place at Farra Design Center in Mkalles on Friday June 3, 2011 at 7.00pm. The first place winner is Ramzi Naja (LAU) winning a sum of $2,000, in second place came Mirna Sabbah (LAU) winning a sum of $1,500, third place was Nour Abi Saad (NDU) winning $1,000, and Daisy Basbous (NDU) won fouth place with $500. The respective projects of the winners are a modular set of tables based on a cube, a light stand whose cover can be used as a bucket with a mop, and a three dimensional wall hanger for each of the last two winners. The public award won by Stephanie Mashmoushi (ALBA) was the I-TAB, a unit which carries books from their spine and has moving tables within it. The awards were presented by Mr.Ronald Farra and Mr.Michel Bernotti, president of the syndicate of interior designers, and Carine El-Dana represented the Divine Details organizing committee.
